1 The Truth About Cats  Snow, Alan (author and illustrator)
0316802824 / 9780316802826 Very Good.
Hardcover. Hardcover with dustjacket 2nd printing 1996 Little, Brown. Superclean; no marks; pages bright; binding tight. Light wear to jacket corners. Ca. 29pp. Language: English. For ages 9 to adult. NOTE: Cannot ship outside U.S. via Global Priority--Surface or Airmail only. 'It's just as you suspected. Cats are an alien race. After the Canines escaped to Earth, life on Planet Nip got downright boring, so the Felines began their space travel with this modest goal: to reach Earth and become known as cats. However, once they arrived and realized how easily they could control humans, the kitties sought world domination and control of all fish supplies. As in the companion volume, How Dogs Really Work (1993), Snow reveals that the inner workings of the animal are mechanical and electronic. The real cats are tiny, technologically sophisticated critters that operate inside the clockwork robots that pose as lovable pets. Ink drawings with colorful washes are large, unusual, and full of wacky detail. For a somewhat older audience than most picture books, this satisfying spoof has an amiable tone of deadpan humor--and a most appealing book jacket.--Carolyn Phelan, Booklist.
